Increasingly, my creative work resides in the collaboration between artists (working in different mediums) and members of diverse communities. This work combines my belief and practice in a rigorous creative process that challenges traditional notions of "Art" and "Community Art." As Executive Director and Core Artist with Littleglobe, I continue to witness individual and community transformation as a result of sustained creative engagement--artists working with members of communities to tell their stories as well as imagine and manifest a collective vision.

Founded in 1992 and named in honor of the late philanthropist, the Vera List Center for Art and Politics at The New School is dedicated to serving as a catalyst for the discourse on the role of the arts in society and their relationship to the sociopolitical climate in which they are created. It seeks to achieve this goal by organizing public programs that respond to the pressing social and political issues of our time as they are articulated by the academic community and by visual and performing artists.

Victory Gardens is a gardening project initiated by artist and designer Amy Franceschini in the Fall of 2006. The project took its inspiration from the historic “war gardens,” but reinvented its concept to a contemporary context. Victory Gardens initially began as a proposal and has now become a project that supports the transition of backyard, front yard, window boxes, rooftops and unused land into food production areas.

The mission of Voices Breaking Boundaries (VBB) is to cross borders, sustain dialogue, and incite cultural change through living art. Voices Breaking Boundaries is a nonprofit arts organization that provides a forum for spoken word, visual arts, film, dance, music and multi-media for artists and individuals from a variety of perspectives, backgrounds and countries. The performance series is funded in part by grants from the City of Houston and the Texas Commission on the Arts through the Cultural Arts Council of Houston and Harris County.

Against the backdrop of historical moments of social change, Walk With Me is a feature-length documentary that follows three women who use theater to inspire, stir and animate our democracy. While at work in prisons, schools, and community centers, the film reveals that one person – one artist – can make a difference.

WaterFire Providence® is an independent, non-profit arts organization whose mission is to inspire Providence and its visitors by revitalizing the urban experience, fostering community engagement and creatively transforming the city by presenting WaterFire for all to enjoy.

Watts House Project (WHP) is an ongoing, artist-driven neighborhood redevelopment effort centered in East 107th Street in South Los Angeles, across from the historic Watts Towers. Inspired by the iconic Towers and the history of the neighborhood in which they exist, WHP recognizes the fundamental role that art and architecture can play in economic and community development. The effort engages local residents, artists, and architects, who work in collaboration to re-imagine the neighborhood through art-based housing renovations and community activism.
